Day 29

Camping trips are never complete without dogs. This one was accompanied by Moe, the golden, and Zeppelin, the German shepherd. They played out on the ice for a solid hour, and had a wonderful time sparring with each other.

Day 28

Today I went camping on the ice at Lake St. Clair. I was surprisingly cozy and warm the entire time. Our fire was finnicky, and I don't blame it- we built it on ice. Ice turns to water when it heats up. Fire and water don't get along so well.

Day 27

I have this weird love for trains. Not the type that a train enthusiast would have, but just an appreciation for the way they feel and sound when you're standing close to them. This one passed as I was walking to class; I slowed down on purpose so that I would be caught on one side of the tracks, and used the time to take pictures and appreciate the snow being swept up in the air current alongside the boxcars.

Day 26

Today, in my environmental physiology class, we were asked to create "organisms" with certain limiting factors by using the provided materials. A somewhat childish activity, but we all loved it nonetheless. This organism had to be a foot tall and freestanding. We added some interesting artistic flair....

Day 25

Massive snowstorm today. Despite getting several pictures of neat snow-covered objects, and a shot of two semi trucks that rolled off the highway, this remains my favourite picture for the day.

Day 24

Happy birthday to me :)

Day 23

Well it's been a week since I've updated this puppy, so I'll have to go back and do an entry for every day. Here's my Monday picture. I got a McGriddle from McDonald's.... not that enjoyable, but I was hungry and out of time. As I was unwrapping it, I happened to notice that the word "bacon" viewed upside down and through the wrapper still very noticeably spells "bacon." It's kinda weird.

Day 22

Frozen tide pool by Lake Huron.... the grass is partially underneath the ice, and still living where it's poking through. Take a close look at the air pockets around the grass sheaths. How cool is that?

Day 21

Today I visited Tawas Point, the place where I spent much of my summer. It looks insane right now- I've never seen a frozen Great Lake before. It reminds me of Antarctica.

Day 20

I went up to Oscoda this weekend with my buddy Andrew... he owns property along the lake up there. We went out late at night to try and set some lines for ice fishing, in hopes of catching breakfast. Unfortunately, it was too difficult to safely navigate the ice in the dark, so we gave up.

Day 19

I have to cross the train tracks every day on my way to and from class... I always hope to be caught by a train so that I can stand as close as possible and feel the ground rumble.

Day 18

I try really hard not to be a photo whore, but every once in a while I like to play with makeup a bit and take pictures of the results so I can refer back to it later (the other picture of me on here is actually the same sort of deal). This is an eyeshadow look inspired by a Kelly Rowland in a David Guetta music video.... I had heard like two songs I liked from him, and decided to do a Youtube search. The video where I saw this eyeshadow wasn't very good, hence why I noticed the makeup more than anything else. Unfortunately it didn't turn out too well... I didn't have quite the right colours, and the original look was on very pretty creamy coffee-looking skin. I don't like it, but it's the only picture I took this day. Colours used: Shimmer light cream, shimmer toffee, bright pink, bright pastel purple, royal purple, royal blue, shimmer light blue, teal, shiny pink-gold, grey smoke, and black. All that work in blending and shading for very little result....

Day 17

Cuteness levels have reached critical mass. Meltdown sequence initiated. Please cover ears to protect yourself from the unearthly squeals I am about to emit.

I'm having a hard time controlling myself when I check on the mouse pups these days.... they get cuter every day. Literally, every day.

Day 16

We had a computer lab day in my Fisheries Management class. Er.... I got a little carried away with customizing my work space.

Day 15

The remnants of my uncarved Halloween pumpkin. It's been on my deck ever since. I should probably throw it away soon....
